Area (13)

The large, upper basin of Hay Bay is almost all sandy-bottomed and 4 to 8 feet deep.   Northern pike and walleye both spawn here - pike in flooded vegetation near shore, walleye on the sand.  In May, flat-line-troll a stickbait like a Rattlin' Rogue over the flats for walleye, especiallly after dark.  Or for a change of pace, cast an in-line spinner around new weed growth for northerns.
