The Quinte Fishing Series
TOURNAMENT RULES 1. Each team will consist of two (2) anglers. All anglers must be 16 years of age or 14 years old with a signed parental consent letter. Anglers must hold a valid Sport Fishing Licence. A Conservation Licence is not acceptable. 2. All tournament entry fees and membership fees must be paid in full with entry form ONE (1) WEEK prior to tournament date. 3. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification. 4. All boats must be a minimum of 14 ft. In length and be equipped with a WORKING KILL SWITCH that must be attached to the driver=s body while combustion engine is running (unless at trolling speed) and a working live well is mandatory. Maximum horsepower for all outboards and inboards must not exceed the horsepower limitations set by the manufacturer=s rating plate. Charging or altering standard factory parts of your motor to increase the horsepower over the factory horsepower rating is forbidden. 5. All tournament boat checks will begin at 5:45 a.m. and any boats NOT checked in by 6:50 a.m. will NOT be checked in until all boats have blasted off at 7:00 a.m. One day tournaments will run from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on two day tournaments, the second day will run from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There will be a PENALTY OF 8 OZ. FOR EVERY MINUTE LATE on scheduled return. All boats MUST check back at designated tournament site or a five (5) point penalty will be assessed to aggregate point total. 6. Only artificial lures may be used. No Alive bait@ or Aprepared bait@ is permitted, with the exception of the May Walleye Tournament. You are allowed to use pork strips and rind. 7. Pre-fishing will be allowed until 5:00 p.m. the preceding day of the tournament. All boats must be off the water by that time! 8. All federal/ provincial boating and fishing regulations must be adhered to. 9. Only the species being fished for will be kept. All other species will be released immediately. 10. Possession Limits:
a) WALLEYE TOURNAMENT -
Due to M.N.R. slot size regulations these conditions must be followed.
Teams will be allowed to weigh in two (2) fish over 63 cm. and two (2)
fish under 63 cm., but over 14" (35.5
cm.). Teams can weigh-in combinations of the two sizes, but no more than two
walleye over the 63 cm. length. Any fish weighed in that does not fit the
above criteria will be grounds for disqualification. 11. It is at the discretion of the Tournament Director if the tournament must be delayed or cancelled for weather reasons. 12. In the case of a tie for any position, the prizes for that position and the position beneath will be added together and distributed equally among the tied teams. 13. Angler/Team of the Year award will be awarded to the angler/team with the lowest aggregate points from five (5) of the six (6) tournaments. Anglers must fish the QUINTE CLASSIC to be eligible for the Angler/Team of the Year and Runner-Up prizes. The QUINTE CLASSIC must count towards Angler/Team of the Year and Runner-Up Awards. In the event of a tie, total weight of tournaments used for this award will determine the winner. Points awarded as follows: 1st place - 1 point, 2nd place - 2 points and 3rd place - 3 points, etc. 14. All waters accessible by boat from the lake proper are deemed tournament waters unless specified by the Tournament Director. Locking through to other waters will NOT be permitted unless specifically specified. 15. NO alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs may be consumed or in the possession of any competitor or boat. If an angler and/or team is found in violation of this rule, the said angler/team will be banned from the Quinte Fishing Series for 13 months from the time of offence with no refund of tournament fees. 16. Fishing prohibited within 100 ft. of another competitor=s boat which was first anchored. While anchored, the trolling motor must be out of the water. No fishing is allowed within 100 yards of Ministry nets or marina gas pumps.
17. Decisions of the Tournament
Director are final. No protests will be allowed after the final team
weighs.in. 18. Competitors may obtain fuel or repairs from marinas or use washroom facilities providing one (1) member remains in the boat. Obtaining rod/reels, bait (live or otherwise), information or food from marinas, tackle stores or bait shops is not permitted during tournament hours. 19. Any team disqualified for any reason will NOT receive refund of entry fee. 20. All taxes on any prize awards are the responsibility of the recipients. 21. If in the officials= opinion, a fish is judged dead, you will receive the weight of the fish minus an 4 oz. penalty. Fish must be ALIVE to be eligible for Big Fish award. 22. Personal floatation devices must be securely worn while travelling at other than trolling and drifting speeds. The new style of inflatable floatation devices must be worn at all times. 23. It is the responsibility of the participant to bring fish up to the weigh-in stage from boat. 24. Proof of boat insurance must be made available upon request. All boats must be covered by a minimum of $1,000,000 liability insurance. (For U.S. anglers, the standard amount of insurance for the U.S. will apply.) 25. NO TROLLING FOR BASS. 26. Transportation/Weigh-in of Fish: During competition hours under the power of your main engine, the number of BASS or WALLEYE allowed to be in your boat livewell, is five (5) bass or four (4) walleye. If you are caught with more than your allowable limit, your fish will be culled down starting with your biggest Bass or Walleye. If a team weighs-in more than their legal limit, the heaviest fish will be removed and a two (2) pound penalty will be subtracted from their total weight. 27. The opening Bass Tournament is a largemouth bass only event.

New Teams are encouraged to fish all five (5) tournaments, but must fish three (3) events prior to the Classic to qualify. The top sixty (50) teams/individuals, including ties, with the lowest aggregate points totals in at least three (3) or from their best three (3) tournaments will qualify for the Quinte Classic. As in the past, there will still be an entry fee for the Classic ($250.00), but this event will now have a 100% payback plus top up money. With a full field of sixty (50) boats, payback will be paid back eight (8) spots with a guaranteed first place payout of $5,000.00 and a total payout of |
