The final tournament of the Quinte Fishing Series, a bass and walleye combo, got underway at 7:00am from the George St. ramps in Belleville.  Twenty teams left the docks under calm waters with some cloud , hoping to catch their limit of 4 bass and 2 walleye for the day.
At the 4:00pm check-in time it was clear after a number of teams had weighed in that the walleye fishing was tough as only half the field caught walleye!  Having caught their limit of 2 bass and 4 walleye the team of Steve Yarrow and Dave Langman took the day one lead with a weight of 24.32lbs.  Weighing in 20.81lbs and in second place were the Lawernce brothers, Tom and Steve, and rounding out the top three were Chris Sherman and Dave Henderson with a full limit and weight of 20.45lbs.
Day 2 saw another gorgeous day with the sun coming out and temperature warming as the day progressed.  Like day one, walleye were somewhat scarce, but by again weighing a full limit the team of Chris Sherman and Dave Henderson, moved from 3rd to first to win the combo title.  Their day 2 weight of 22.17lbs gave them a great weight of 42.62lbs!
The $250.00 "Big Fish Award" for bass came from a 4.70lb bass from day1 and went to the first place finishers of Chris Sherman and Dave Henderson.  The big walleye of the tournament came in on day 2 as Chris and Mary Ann Frazee weighed in a nice fish of 9.40lbs to claim their $250.00 prize and trophy.
