Area (13)

A silt/sandy-bottomed hump, rising to about 3 feet between the old Bakelite plant and Snake Island, develops a large coontail weedbed.  Drift over the top, late July through mid-September, and cast shallow-running crankbaits or tandem spinnerbaits for "weed walleye".  The weed edges also hold some decent summer northern pike.
