Area 25

The Salmon River draws a nice pickerel spawning run. In May many remain in 6 to 12 foot depths on the undulating, sandy bottom off the mouth. Troll a stickbait like a Rattlin Rogue between Salmon Island and the old cement plant silos at Point Anne, especially after dark. From late July until early September, Work the 5 foot weed edges on the long, narrow hump farther out. The 12 to 15 foot depth south of this hump is a popular ice fishing spot. Weedy shallows at the river mouth hold northern pike in May, largemouth bass in July and August.
