Area (3)

Troll the 12- to 14-foot channel between Indian Island Bank and Onderdonk Point for May walleye.  Some huge, spawned-out females are taken, especially at night.  This channel is also a great spot at first ice, usually in late December.

From mid-July through August, pickerel move into the coontail, in 3- to 5-foot depths on top of the mud bank.  Finesse a crankbait or tandem spinnerbait through the scattered weeds.  Big smallmouth bass use the same area in late September/early October.
