Area (11) The Moira River attracts a major spawning run of pickerel in april. Many remain for about the first two weeks of the season, often drifting out during daytime and moving back in at night. Drift-jigging, trolling and shore-casting can all produce fish ranging from precocious 14-inch males to monster 16-pound females. Deeper water along the east side is often best. Boats should not run upstream of the second bridge (Bridge Street). As at the Trent River, if you're looking for solitude, this is not your place. In November, big walleye move into the shallows after dark, and shore-casting from Meyers Pier turns up some beautiful fish.
